This past week has been lacking in knitting, I have to be honest. I was away Wednesday evening for work, and got back late Thursday, and didn’t think to take any knitting with me. Mainly as I packed about 10 minutes before leaving!
I think I had a case of demoralisation. There I was Tuesday, knitting away quite happily, when the yarn broke. This is in the trial jumper which is using a tube type yarn with wool, from Adriafil. I thought to myself, ‘Well, that happens sometimes. Frustrating but I can deal with it.’
So I tinked back to give me enough yarn to work with adding the new end and for sewing in. Of I went, knitting away again. You probably can guess what happened. Next row, yarn broke. ‘Aargh! seriously!’ Tink back, add new end and carry on. I thought maybe I pulled quite tight and it was my fault.
You guessed it! Two rows later it happened again. I mean, come on. Give me a flipping break! (Unfortunate choice of words, but apt). Yarn ball chucked across room. I couldn’t face it happening again. If not just because of the extra sewing in. I hauled a new ball of yarn from my pack and thankfully this one has been ok, so far.
So, as you can see I was none too keen on picking it up, in case it broke again. And as a result, not much has been done, maybe 10 rounds or so. I’m about a hand length from the armpit. Terribly accurate, not. The tape measure will come out when I get closer. 🙂
There you have it; my summary of last week. Short and not so sweet. I have a post for tomorrow, but need some images for it, else it would have been in tonight’s post. No pics tonight, but I doubt you would recognise the change. I am slightly jealous of those of you that have opportunity through the day to pick up a WIP and get on with it.
Have a great weekend and look out for tomorrow post, hot on the heels of this one.
Jamie.
