Buongiorno and Yaaaay! Holiday time. Sorry, if you are not on holiday, but I am now off for two whole weeks. Italy, here we come.
I have everything packed. Even managed to sneak in three balls of yarn and a 3.5mm crochet hook. I don’t know that I will have much time for the first part of the holidays, but I hope I will get chance in the second part.
I have packed three shades, so probably a shawl or a scarf maybe as the yarn is 100% alpaca and the three shades are complementary. It’s also going to be my own design, so let’s see how that goes.
And because the other half dislikes flying, we go by train. Whilst it takes longer to do this, it does have its benefits. When you fly, you only become familiar with a departure airport and the arrival airport, going by train lets you experience so much more.
By train you can glide languidly from scene to scene, country to country. Go from wide open fields to towering mountains. Or travel alongside roads before disappearing through a tunnel, only to reappear on lakeside tracks. Going by train takes you away from the everyday, and transports you to a new view and your holiday; it becomes a part of your holiday, whereas flying is just a means to get somewhere quick and start your holiday.
