I’ve added a new page to my blog site. It’s for my online shop, Eclectic Crafter.
You can read about why I’ve set this up if you click the menu button on my site and visit the page. There’s a link to the the shop from site page also.
A guy in to craft, mainly yarn-based crochet, weaving and some basic knitting. I love mixing colours, trying new patterns and stitches. I will also try different crafts such as stone carving, stained glass making, fused glass and leatherwork. I can think of nothing better than being able to say ‘I made this!’ Even if it’s not perfect.

I’ll be interested to know how you get on with your own website. After ten years or so I’m rather disenchanted with Etsy and I’ve actually temporarily closed two of my shops because of worries about things going missing to the States which is where most of my customers have come from in the past – I’m mostly talking about vintage items here though so not really comparable.
Your shop looks attractive and your prices look very good to me so, hopefully, you will do well. Good luck!
Thank you. I did look at Etsy but I had seen news on how they had been changing terms and enforcing use of their payment system. I figured the percentage I’d pay on any item sold on Etsy would outweigh going my own way. Obviously it is not without challenges as I need to market on my own. So it’s a chance. There are other options out there if I need to pursue a different course.
wow, congratulations, and best of luck with it, your shopping window looks beautiful already!
